The lesson for today:Poor students likely to make poor teacher

Notes:-

  • recommendations to reform of initial teacher education.
  • courses do not equip pre-service teacher with knowledge and skills.
  • universities during the past have identified low literacy and numeracy skills.
  • universities enrol large number of students with low achiever.
Summery:-
  • The report recommends that much needed to be done to enhance the quality of teaching courses and improve the training stage for beginning teachers.
  • The teaching courses is not the evidence of the quality of the programs and outcomes, many  preservice graduated without the necessary knowledge and skills to be good teacher.
  • During the past, the universities have identified low literacy and numeracy skills. They have found mistakes on spelling, vocabulary and grammar inspite of they are universities students.
  • Some universities enrol large number of students with low achiever rather than set a certain level of academic competence to ensure they can faces the complex challenge of teaching.
Personal reflection:-
I agree with the report, the teacher should have high efficiency and ability in order to be qualified to teach future generations. The universities should take responsibilities to support all the students and offer them remediation courses who may have problems meeting the academic requirements.
